У середу, 6 травня 2026 року, Група високого рівня НАТО, старший дорадчий орган Групи ядерного планування НАТО (ГЯП) зібралася у Брюсселі. Ця зустріч допомогла підготуватися до червневого, 2026 року, засідання ГЯП, де союзники обговорюватимуть роль ядерних сил НАТО у збереженні миру, запобіганні примусу і стримуванні агресії.
Союзники вчергове підтвердили важливу роль ядерного стримування в загальній стратегії НАТО, виділивши ядерні консультації як наріжний камінь ядерної політики НАТО, і збереження своїх зобов’язань підтримувати мир і запобігати конфліктам за допомогою безпечних, захищених і дієвих ядерних сил і засобів.
Група високого рівня продовжує працювати над посиленням ядерного стримування в НАТО, підвищенням прозорості там, де це доцільно, забезпеченням донесення спільної і чіткої комунікації з боку Альянсу про його незмінну відданість стримуванню і обороні.
