Міністри оборони 10 країн – членів НАТО зібрались разом в середу, 11 жовтня 2023 року, для підписання Меморандуму про розуміння щодо подальшого розвитку ініціативи «Європейський небесний щит». Очолювана Німеччиною, ця ініціатива покликана посилити європейську протиповітряну і протиракетну оборону через спільне придбання обладнання і ракет для ППО європейськими країнами. Це посилить інтегровану протиповітряну і протиракетну оборону НАТО.
