НАТО затверджує нову Стратегічну концепцію, зміцнює стримування і оборону, збільшує підтримку для України, запрошує Фінляндію і Швецію

Лідери НАТО, на першому робочому засіданні Мадридського саміту в середу, 29 червня 2022 року, прийняли далекосяжні рішення продовжувати адаптацію Альянсу. Члени Альянсу затвердили нову Стратегічну концепцію НАТО, дороговказ для НАТО у більш небезпечному і конкурентному світі. Вони також прийняли рішення про «фундаментальну зміну нашого стримування і оборони», підкріплену збільшеними інвестиціями в оборону і спільним фінансуванням, а також про більшу підтримку України протягом більш тривалого часу.
Члени також домовились створити Інноваційний фонд НАТО і визначити цілі скорочення викидів парникових газів в НАТО. І насамкінець, лідери НАТО прийняли історичне рішення запросити Фінляндію і Швецію стати членами Альянсу.
