НАТО відзначає річницю терактів 11вересня

Генеральний секретар Єнс Столтенберг приєднався до постійної представниці США Кей Бейлі Гатчісон на Меморіалі пам’яті 11 вересня і статті 5 в штаб-квартирі НАТО в середу, 11 вересня 2019 року, для участі в церемонії, присвяченій 18-й річниці атаки терористів на США 2001 року. Пан Столтенберг нагадав, що ця атака призвела до застосування положення про колективну оборону Альянсу в перший і єдиний раз в історії, і що члени Альянсу єдині в «глобальній боротьбі покоління» проти тероризму. Він сказав: «Європа і Північна Америка повинні і надалі стояти разом так само, як ми стояли разом 11 вересня, єдині в нашому прагненні захистити наші народи і наші цінності».
