14-15 грудня 20156 р. в Ашгабаті відбулася конференція «25 років незалежності: питання енергетичної безпеки в Центральній Азії та інших регіонах» за участі експертів з Афганістану, Казахстану, Киргизстану, Таджикистану, Туркменістану та Узбекистану. На цьому заході у Туркменістані спеціалісти мали можливість обговорити проблеми безпеки та шляхи регіональної співпраці, зокрема в енергетичній галузі.
