L'agent de liaison de l'OTAN pour l'Asie centrale, Rosaria Puglisi, a rencontré le ministre ouzbek des Affaires étrangères, M. Abdulaziz Kamilov, et le ministre ouzbek de la Défense, M. Kaboul Berdiev, les 10 et 12 février. Ensemble, ils ont évoqué la collaboration en cours entre l'Alliance et l'Ouzbékistan et examiné les moyens de renforcer cette relation en 2016.

Les ministres ont réitéré le soutien de leur pays à la coopération avec l'OTAN dans le cadre du programme du Partenariat pour la paix (PPP) et d'autres activités d'intérêt national.

L'Ouzbékistan a adhéré au PPP de l'OTAN en 1994.
