В четверг (2 июля 2015 г.) в ходе визита в Бухарест Генеральный секретарь НАТО Йенс Столтенберг поблагодарил Румынию за ее значительный вклад в безопасность Североатлантического союза. На совместной пресс-конференции с президентом Клаусом Вернером Йоханнисом г-н Столтенберг назвал Румынию «надежным союзником», подчеркнув, что «НАТО рассчитывает на Румынию, и Румыния может рассчитывать на НАТО».
