В пятницу (29 мая 2015 г.) Генеральный секретарь Йенс Столтенберг высоко оценил ключевой вклад Соединенных Штатов в потенциал противоракетной обороны НАТО во время визита на эсминец ВМС США «Карни», оснащенный системой «Иджис», на военно-морской станции Мэйпорт во Флориде. В сентябре эсминец отправится на военно-морскую базу Рота (Испания), чтобы стать частью системы противоракетной обороны НАТО совместно с тремя другими кораблями аналогичного типа.
