НАТО і Республіка Джибуті зміцнили свою співпрацю, уклавши 22 квітня 2015 року угоду про заснування Офісу зв’язку НАТО в Джибуті на підтримку антипіратської операції Альянсу «Океанський щит» («Оушен шилд») в Аденській затоці. Угоду підписали заступниця помічника Генерального секретаря НАТО посол Франческа Тардіолі і міністр закордонних справ Республіки Джибуті Махмуд Алі Юссуф.
