Заява Генерального секретаря щодо членства Фінляндії в НАТО

Я вітаю результати голосування в Турецькій Великій Національній Асамблеї за ратифікацію членства Фінляндії в НАТО.
Усі 30 союзників по НАТО вже ратифікували Протокол про вступ.
І я щойно розмовляв з Президентом Ніїністьо, привітавши його з цією історичною подією.
Фінляндія офіційно приєднається до нашого Альянсу найближчими днями.
Її членство надає Фінляндії більше безпеки, а НАТО робить сильнішою.
Фінляндія має дуже спроможні збройні сили, передові сили і засоби, і міцні демократичні інституції.
Тому Фінляндія дуже багато принесе до нашого Альянсу.
Усі члени Альянсу минулого року прийняли історичне рішення запросити Фінляндію і Швецію до нашого Альянсу.
Після того ми стали свідками найшвидшого в сучасній історії НАТО процесу ратифікації.
Члени Альянсу згодні з тим, що швидке завершення процесу ратифікації для Швеції буде в інтересах усіх.
Я з нетерпінням очікую на можливість якомога швидше привітати також і Швецію як повноправного члена родини НАТО.
