Генерал-лейтенант Ян Брукс, генеральний директор Міжнародного військового штабу НАТО, із 16 до 19 квітня 2019 року відвідав Азербайджан. Під час візиту генеральний директор зустрівся з міністром оборони генерал-полковником Закіром Гасановим, начальником департаменту військового співробітниицтва генерал-майором Гусейном Махмудовим і начальниками Військового коледжу Збройних сил Азербайджану і Військової академії. Генерал-лейтенант Брукс скористався цією нагодою і виступив перед курсантами і викладачами.
