На Рижской конференции по общественной дипломатии, состоявшейся во вторник, 30 ноября 2021 года, Генеральный секретарь Йенс Столтенберг поделился своими идеями о следующей Стратегической концепции НАТО.

В новом документе, который лидеры стран НАТО одобрят на встрече в верхах в Мадриде в июне 2022 года, будет изложено, каким образом НАТО будет адаптироваться к более непредсказуемому и конкурентному миру. В своем выступлении г-н Столтенберг обозначил пять элементов, которые должны занимать центральное место в следующей Стратегической концепции:

  • защита наших ценностей,
  • укрепление нашей военной мощи,
  • укрепление наших обществ,
  • применение глобального видения и
  • построение НАТО в качестве институциональной связи между Европой и Северной Америкой.
