В четверг (1 октября 2026 года) Генеральный секретарь НАТО Марк Рютте прибыл Мюнстер, чтобы вместе с федеральным канцлером Германии Фридрихом Мерцем и премьер-министром Нидерландов Робом Йеттеном посетить 1-й германо-нидерландский корпус.
Генеральный секретарь поблагодарил федерального канцлера Германии и премьер-министра Нидерландов за их решимость. По словам г-на Рютте, 1-й германо-нидерландский корпус является одним из лучших примеров того, как «европейские страны НАТО активизируют усилия и делают больше для обороны этой части территории стран НАТО. Более сильная Европа в составе более сильной НАТО».
1-й германо-нидерландский корпус представляет собой штаб оперативного управления войсками, в котором бок о бок служат представители 16 стран НАТО. Он способен осуществлять командование международной группировкой численностью 50 000 военнослужащих при обороне Эстонии и Латвии.
Позднее в тот же день г-н Рютте получил от имени НАТО Международную премию Вестфальского мира 2026 года, присужденную Экономическим обществом Вестфалии и Липпе.
На церемонии вручения премии в историческом здании ратуши Мюнстера г-н Рютте подчеркнул, что для него большая честь получить «эту премию от имени НАТО и всех замечательных людей, из которых складывается Североатлантический союз. Именно они — гражданские и военные — каждый день выполняют эту непростую работу, обеспечивая безопасность одного миллиарда наших граждан в Европе и Северной Америке».
«Уже более 75 лет задача НАТО заключается в том, чтобы предотвращать войны, защищать территорию и население стран НАТО и сохранять мир. Именно этим мы продолжаем заниматься изо дня в день. Перед лицом реальных и долгосрочных угроз мы удваиваем усилия по укреплению наших оборонительных рубежей. Быстрее и сообща», — заявил г-н Рютте.
Говоря о растущем числе злонамеренных гибридных атак в Европе и на фоне неспровоцированной войны России против Украины, Генеральный секретарь четко сформулировал свой призыв: «Сохранять спокойствие, продолжать начатое и поддерживать Украину».
