Генеральний секретар НАТО обговорив події в Білорусі з Президентом Польщі

Генеральний секретар НАТО Єнс Столтенберг у вівторок, 18 серпня 2020 року, обговорив під час телефонної розмови з Президентом Польщі Анджеєм Дудою ситуацію в Білорусі.
Обидва лідери погодились з тим, що Мінськ повинен продемонструвати цілковиту повагу до основних прав людини, в тому числі свободи слова і права на мирний протест. Вони також погодились з тим, що Альянс повинен зберігати пильність і бути строго оборонним, готовим до стримування будь-якої агресії проти союзників по НАТО.
Генеральний секретар наголосив на тому, що НАТО не становить ніякої загрози для Білорусі і не здійснює ніякого нарощування військових сил в регіоні. Усі члени Альянсу підтримують суверенну і незалежну Білорусь.
