Генеральний секретар НАТО Єнс Столтенберг в понеділок, 9 березня 2020 року, зустрівся у Брюсселі з Президентом Туреччини Реджепом Тайїпом Ердоганом.
Два лідери обговорили серйозну ситуацію з безпекою в Сирії. Генеральний секретар підкреслив, що НАТО і надалі підтримуватиме Туреччину заходами з допомоги в захисті Туреччини від загроз із Сирії.
Генеральний секретар і Президент Ердоган також обговорили вплив руху мігрантів і біженців на турецько-грецькому кордоні. «Проблема потоків мігрантів і біженців є спільною проблемою, яка вимагає спільного розв'язання», – сказав Генеральний секретар.
