During exercises REPMUS and Dynamic Messenger 2025, NATO Allies, partners, industry, and researchers came together to test new drones, sensors, and innovative communications technology at sea and in the sky in Portugal. The drills included testing new technology developed through DIANA, an organisation established by NATO to provide companies with resources, networks, and guidance to create innovative technologies that solve critical defence and security challenges, including tackling threats to our collective resilience.
Crew member tests drone's ability to detect drifting mines at REPMUS 2025. During Exercises REPMUS and Dynamic Messenger 2025, NATO united Allied forces, partners, industry, and researchers to trial uncrewed systems, advanced sensing, and communications in real-life tests scenarios at sea. NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator (DIANA) helps turn new ideas into real capabilities by connecting innovators with real-world trials, making it easier for Allies to adopt technology, work together, and use innovative technologies to strengthen defence.
