Фінляндія і Швеція подали заяви на вступ до НАТО

Фінляндія і Швеція в середу, 18 травня 2022 року, зранку водночас подали свої офіційні листи із заявами про вступ до НАТО.
Листи були передані фінським послом при НАТО Клаусом Корхоненом і, відповідно, шведським послом при НАТО Акселем Вернгоффом Генеральному секретарю НАТО Єнсу Столтенбергу в брюссельській штаб-квартирі Альянсу. Пан Столтенберг тепло привітав прохання, сказавши: «Це гарний день в критичний момент для нашої безпеки».
