Три країни-члена НАТО посилюють свою оборонну співпрацю, уклавши нову угоду про роботу над створенням багатонаціонального командування Сил спеціальних операцій, яке має розпочати свою діяльність в 2019 році. Міністри оборони Бельгії, Данії і Нідерландів підписали угоду в четвер, 16 лютого 2017 року, на полях засідання міністрів оборони країн НАТО в Брюсселі. Це багатонаціональне командування буде здатне очолити і координувати діяльність оперативно-тактичних груп Сил спеціальних операцій в рамках невеликої спільної операції.
