Admiral Cavo Dragone takes over from Admiral Bauer as Chair of the NATO Military Committee Today, 17 January 2025, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone assumed the role of Chair of the NATO Military Committee, officially receiving the gavel from his predecessor, Admiral Rob Bauer, during a special session of the Military Committee. Prior to the session, Admiral Bauer laid a wreath at the Danish Memorial Stone, which honours those who have fallen in the service of the Alliance. |
10 Sep. 2024 | ![]() | From 8 until 10 September 2024, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Bauer visited long-standing NATO Partner Mongolia upon the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces. Admiral Bauer’s visit underscored the value of NATO’s ongoing partnership with Mongolia. It allowed Admiral Bauer to express NATO’s commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation in building capabilities and interoperability, and to share the outcomes of the 2024 Washington DC Summit. The NATO-Mongolia partnership has been demonstrated through education, peacekeeping, and capacity-building. Admiral Bauer conveyed to his Mongolian counterparts that NATO Member States and Mongolia are linked by shared aspirations, and as democracies, share a fundamental desire for peace and stability. |

NATO Military Committee visits Allied Command Transformation in Portugal From 20 to 22 March 2024, at the invitation of General Philippe Lavigne, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, the NATO Military Committee travelled to Allied Command Transformation’s Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre (JALLC) in Monsanto, Portugal. The NATO Military Representatives also visited the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) Headquarters. |

“Ukraine does not stand alone”, says Chair of the NATO Military Committee at the Kyiv Security Forum On 20-21 March 2024, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer was in Kyiv, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, and Ukrainian Chief of Defence, General Oleksandr Syrskyi. This is the first NATO military delegation to visit Ukraine since the full-scale invasion. During his visit, Admiral Bauer addressed the Kyiv Security Forum. |
