A training course co-sponsored by the NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Co-ordination Centre (EADRCC) gathered 17 representatives from 9 NATO and Partner countries in Croatia this month.

The “International Search and Rescue Guidelines Awareness Training Course” was conducted in Racviac, the Centre for Security Cooperation based in Rakitje, Croatia, from 27-29 April 2009.

The course was developed in the framework of the South Eastern European Security Cooperation Steering Group and carried forward by NATO’s Defence Policy and Planning Division in close coordination with the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Co-ordination Centre with support of the South Eastern European Security Cooperation Steering Group and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).  A second course will be organised later this year.
