Enno Mõts

MG Mõts was born in 1974, Estonia. He joined the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences in 1992 and belongs to the 1st graduating class, 1996. He was assigned to Kuperjanov’s Infantry Battalion, serving in a position of a platoon leader. In 1999, he attended artillery basic course in US, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Returning to Estonia, he was transferred to Artillery Battalion. MG Mõts served there in various positions including Chief of Staff and Commanding Officer of the battalion.

In 2005, he graduated the Joint Command and General Staff Course from the Baltic Defence College, and became a member of teaching faculty in the Estonian National Defence College. From 2007, he became the Head of the Tactics Department. During the period, he completed Master’s degree in Social sciences at University of Tartu.

From 2012 – 2014 he held a position of the Commander of the North-Eastern Defence Command, following with command of the Southern Defence Command that was later transformed into 2 Infantry Brigade. In 2016, MG Mõts was appointed as a Deputy Commander of the Estonian National Defence College, known today as the Estonian Military Academy. After graduating the Higher Command Studies Course from the Baltic Defence College, he became the Rector of the Academy.

From 2021 – 2024 he served as the Chief of the Headquarters of the Estonian Defence Forces, and from 2023 carried also duties of the Chief of the Operations. MG Mõts is a 2023 graduate of Senior Leaders Course from the Baltic Defence College. MG Mõts is the Estonian Military Representative to NATO and EU, appointed from August 2024.

During his service, he has studied abroad in numerous NATO lead courses, and was deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011. His personal awards include the Estonian Defence Forces Meritorious Service Cross, the Estonian Defence Forces Distinguished Service Decoration, and the Defence League Service Decoration. MG Mõts has been decorated with the Estonian State Decoration “The Order of the Cross of the Eagle (III class)”.

MG Mõts is married to Kaidi and has a daughter and a son.
