Boris Šerić

Lieutenant General Boris Serie was born on 4th January 1968 in Pribude, municipality of Muc, Split-Dalmatia County, Republic of Croatia. He holds a Masters' Degree in National Resource Strategy from Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy and a Masters' Degree in Transportation Engineering from Zagreb University.

His military education includes Advanced Officer School, Croatian Armed Forces Command and General Staff College, Croatian Armed Forces War College and the US National Defense University, Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Prior to becoming a Croatian Military Representative to NATO and EU, he served as the Croatian Army Commander since March 2020.

He voluntarily joined the Ministry of Interior in January 1991 at the time of the beginning of the Homeland war, and soon afterwards upon formation of the Croatian Army, he joined the 4th Guard Brigade "Pauci".

L TG Serie commanded at different levels in the Croatian Armed Forces, to include commands of Croatian Army, Guard Motorized Brigade, 658th Artillery Brigade, 4th Guard Brigade Artillery Battalion, Artillery Battery and Artillery Platoon.

He also served as secretary of the Cabinet of the Vice-prime Minister and Minister of the Defense of the Republic of Croatia, Deputy Commander/Chief of Staff of the Croatian Land Forces, Artillery Battalion Deputy Commander and as a faculty member at the Department of Land Operations and Tactics at the Croatian Military Academy "Dr Franjo Tudman".

LTG Serie has been deployed to UN Mission in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) and ISAF mission in Afghanistan as a member of the 14th Croatian contingent.

He was promoted to Lieutenant (1992), Captain (1993), Major (1995), Lieutenant Colonel (2004), Colonel (2010), Brigadier General (2013), Major General (2019), and Lieutenant General (2020).

His awards and decoration include the Homeland War Medal, Homeland Gratitude Medal for 5 and 25 years of Distinguished Service, the Order of Croatian Pieter, the Order of Croatian Trefoil, the Order of Vice-Roy "Ban Josip Jelacie", Medal "Exceptional Venture" and Croatian Armed Forces Gold Medal, as well as medals for operations ,,Storm" and ,,Summer 95".

He is married to Anita and they have three daughters.
