Secretary General praises Romania’s contributions to shared security

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a press point with the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, in Bucharest on Thursday (31 January 2019). Mr. Stoltenberg thanked Romania for its strong contributions to the Alliance, including its support for greater security in Afghanistan and Kosovo, and its leadership in the multinational battlegroup in promoting Black Sea Security. Secretary General Stoltenberg and President Iohannis also discussed the future of the INF Treaty and NATO’s mission in Afghanistan. The Secretary General also congratulated Romania on their first presidency of the Council of the European Union, thanking them for making NATO-EU cooperation a priority during their presidency.
