Secretary General of the OSCE addresses Partnership Council
Ambassador Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), addressed today the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) in Ambassadorial session and met the Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero.
In his briefing, de Brichambaut said that like the OSCE, the EAPC provides an inclusive forum for addressing the security challenges shared by the States making up the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian community and stressed that "our efforts can and should complement each other".
In their bilateral meeting, Bisogniero and de Brichambaut discussed the challenges ahead in Afghanistan following the Kabul conference, the situation in Kyrgyzstan as well as the upcoming Summits which both NATO and the OSCE will host this year.
They also exchanged views on the ongoing discussion on the new NATO Strategic Concept to be adopted by the Alliance's Heads of State and Government in Lisbon at the end of 2010.
