On Wednesday, 9 April, the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN) was honoured to welcome a delegation from Belgium's Cour des comptes (Court of Audit) to NATO Headquarters (Brussels). IBAN was represented by Mr Sébastien Lepers, Board member, and Mr Patrick Alix, Senior Auditor - Financial Audit, and the Belgian delegation was led by Mr Christophe Rappe, councillor and member of the Court’s college. The reason for the visit was a bilateral meeting to deepen cooperation between the two external audit institutions.

On Wednesday, 9 April, the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN) was honoured to welcome a delegation from Belgium's Cour des comptes (Court of Audit) to NATO Headquarters (Brussels).

Taking part in the discussions with the IBAN were several representatives from Belgium's Cour des comptes: Mr Wim François, Ms Nelly Mercier and Mr Yannick Trillet.

The meeting was an opportunity to explore various avenues for future collaboration, in a spirit of openness, constructive dialogue and mutual benefit. It took place in the context of a joint effort to promote the principles of good governance, transparency, accountability and performance within the Alliance.

The discussions were particularly valuable and opened the way to the forthcoming signature of a formal cooperation agreement between IBAN and Belgium's Cour des comptes; an important step towards an enhanced partnership in service of high-quality, independent public-sector external auditing.

IBAN would like to express its wholehearted thanks to Belgium's Cour des comptes for its visit, its commitment and its willingness to work together towards exemplary governance in NATO’s international context.
