Thank you General Figliuolo and Admiral Ferguson.

Good morning everybody!

It’s great to see you all.

It’s great to see so many troops, from so many NATO Allies and partners, working together as one.

You really are part of a great success.

Sixteen years ago, NATO came here in the aftermath of bloodshed and war.  Today, Kosovo is a very different place.

Peaceful, stable, increasingly prosperous.

Under a clear United Nations mandate, our mission has helped transform Kosovo into a safer place. And it has helped make the Western Balkans more stable.

KFOR will continue to preserve a safe and secure environment and guarantee freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo. And I know you will do this firmly, fairly and impartially.

NATO will also continue to help build a capable Kosovo Security Forces. This force still has much to do, but it has come a long way.  And your work has become a showcase for similar efforts around the world.

So every man and woman who has served under the KFOR flag has helped to change the course of history in Kosovo. And helped keep our neighbourhood stable.

You have made a difference.

So let me thank each of you for your great dedication and professionalism. And for your excellent work.

And all the best for this New Year!
