Secretary General welcomes Australia’s cooperation with NATO, support to Ukraine

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to the Vilnius Summit on Tuesday (11 July 2023), praising Australia as a deeply valued NATO partner. Underlining that security in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions is closely linked, Mr Stoltenberg thanked the Prime Minister for Australia’s strong military and economic support to Ukraine, which includes training for Ukrainian forces and the provision of armoured vehicles. Mr Stoltenberg also welcomed that NATO and Australia are deepening partnership in areas like cyber, new technologies, and countering hybrid threats.
