NATO stands with Afghanistan in sympathy and solidarity as we pay tribute to the victims of the recent brutal and cowardly terrorist attacks. My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims, and with the wounded.

Press conference by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg ahead of meetings of NATO Foreign Ministers and following a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council

The Afghan security forces are demonstrating bravery and resilience, keeping up the pressure against insurgents across the country. NATO is firmly committed to supporting them as they develop their skills and capabilities, and we are increasing the size of our Resolute Support training mission.

At the same time, it is essential to redouble efforts to achieve peace and reconciliation, through a process led and owned by Afghans. A stable Afghanistan benefits us all, so we encourage all regional actors to play a constructive role.

NATO will continue to stand with Afghans as they fight terrorism, and work to build peace and reconciliation.
