Dane Taleski has served as Foreign Policy Special Adviser to the Prime Minister since June, 2017, when Prime Minister Zoran Zaev assumed office, including the period of the technical government when Oliver Spasovski was Prime Minister (January – August 2020). Since May 2019, he has been tasked with the duties of National Coordinator for NATO integration by the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Before entering government service, Mr. Taleski was Adjunct Professor at the South East European University in Tetovo/Skopje. He was also a visiting lecturer at the University of Fribourg, a visiting fellow at the Centre for Southeast European Studies at the University of Graz and a fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies of Southeastern Europe at the University of Rijeka. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for various international organizations and foundations including OSCE High Commissioner for Minorities, Bertelsmann Foundation and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

In 2014, Mr. Taleski received a Civil Society Scholar Award from the Open Society Institute in New York. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Central European University in Budapest. He has co-edited several books and published dozen articles in peer reviewed academic journals.

He is married and has one child.
