NATO discusses status of military cooperation with Georgia
On 3 Feb 2010 Lieutenant-General Jürgen Bornemann, Director General of the International Military Staff (IMS, at NATO Headquarters), concluded an official visit to Georgia.
NATO Delegation meets with Georgian counterpart
Hosted by the Georgian CHOD MGen Devi Tchankotadze, Gen Bornemann had the opportunity to discuss the status and way ahead for NATO-Georgia cooperation with several officials, including the Vice Prime Minister and State Minister of Euro-Atlantic Integration, Mr. Giorgi Baramidze, the Georgian Minister of Defence, Mr. Bakhana Achalaia and the Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Mrs. Rusudan Kervalishvili.
Concluding his visit in Batumi, he was invited to deliver a keynote speech to the participants of the Georgian Defence Conference and to take part in a panel discussion. Throughout the visit, Gen Bornemann stressed the importance of Georgia's involvement in ISAF operations and highlighted the outcomes of the NATO-Georgia partnership in 2010.
