The NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Claudio Bisognero, will open on Monday, 13th September the NATO/Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) Multimedia Exhibition to mark the 10-year anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR)1325 on women, peace and security as well as the Alliance’s contribution together with Partners in support of the Resolution.

Resolution 1325 was adopted in by the United Nations in October 2000 and recognised the disproportionate effect of conflict on women, while underlining the essential role of women in the prevention and resolution of conflict. In 2007 NATO and its Partners approved the NATO / EAPC policy on implementing the resolution, joining other international organisations in contributing to the international community’s efforts in support of the principles outlined in UNSCR 1325.
