NATO Secretary General visits Afghanistan
The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, is currently visiting Afghanistan. He will meet with President Karzai and other Afghan authorities, with the Commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), General Stanley A. McChrystal, and with the United Nations Special Representative, Mr Kai Eide.
In addition, the Secretary General will receive a briefing from the NATO Senior Civilian Representative, Ambassador Fernando Gentilini.
The Secretary General will also visit selected Provincial Reconstruction Teams and meet with troops on the ground.
