On the afternoon of 1 May, a NATO aircraft carried out an attack against the Luzan bridge, interdicting a key north-south supply route for FRY military and special police operating between Pristina and Podujevo in Kosovo. Unfortunately, after weapon release, a bus crossed the bridge. NATO is not in a position to confirm civilian loss of life. There was no intent to harm civilians during this strike. NATO takes every precaution to avoid civilian casualties during its operations.
