The Latvian Defence Minister, Mr. Janis Trapans, visits NATO and declares acceptance of the Latvian Individual Partnership Programme. NATO approves plans for direct dialogue with Egypt, Israel, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia to combat the threat of Islamic fundamentalism.
