NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, spoke today (3 November 2022) at the Prague Cyber Security Conference 2022. He said that there is an ongoing battle of ideas between free, democratic nations and authoritarian regimes, including in the field of technology, and that NATO Allies are committed to the principles of responsible use that reflect our values and human rights.

Mr Geoană said, “This is what sets us apart from our competitors. It is why shaping the standards and norms of the development and use of new technologies is so important. Our ambition is for NATO to set the gold standard on the ethical use of new technologies in defence.”

The Prague Cyber Security Conference is part of the EU Secure and Innovative Digital Future event organised by the Czech National Cyber and Information Security Agency.
