The Speaker of the Estonian Riigikogu (parliament) visits the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Kyiv.

Mrs. Ene Ergma and five members of the Riigikogu paid a short visit to the NATO Information and Documentation Centre on 30 September during the delegation s official visit to Ukraine (29 September-3 October 2003).

During the visit, Director, NIDC, gave a briefing on current NATO-Ukraine related issues and on NATO Public Diplomacy policy in Ukraine, in particular vis-_is the Verknovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament).

Estonia, a former Soviet Republic, is one of the seven countries currently invited to join the Alliance.

Like Ukraine, the Baltic State has been challenged by political and military reforms in its Euro-Atlantic integration process.
