NATO Deputy Secretary General marks 70th anniversary of NATO in Italy

NATO Deputy Secretary General marked the 70th anniversary of NATO’s presence in Italy on Friday (17 September 2021), praising Italy for playing a key role in NATO, in Europe and in preserving international security. Speaking at a ceremony at the Alliance’s Joint Force Command in Naples, the Deputy Secretary General said the command has been “key to prepare for, plan and conduct military operations” including in the Balkans and Iraq.
