NATO Secretary General points to major defence spending increase as Brussels Summit begins

Speaking ahead of the Brussels Summit on Wednesday (11 July 2018) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Allies will deliver on fairer burden-sharing. Mr. Stoltenberg said European Allies and Canada are expected to spend an extra $266 billion on defence between now and 2024. Mr. Stoltenberg also explained how leaders will take decisions to increase the readiness of Allies forces, modernize NATO’s Command Structure, and do more in the fight against terrorism.
