NATO Secretary General visits the Republic of Iraq
The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg is currently visiting the Republic of Iraq.
In Besmaya, Mr. Stoltenberg will visit NATO's training facilities accompanied by the Base Commander Brigadier General Luis Cepeda Lucas. There he will engage with Canadian and Slovakian trainers, as well as Iraqi trainees, and witness counter-improvised explosive device, explosive ordnance disposal and de-mining training first-hand.
In Baghdad, the Secretary General will meet with Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Haïder al-Abadi and other high level officials. He will also engage with Commanding General, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, Lt.-Gen. Paul E. Funk II, and senior Global Coalition commanders, as well as representatives from the United Nations, European Union, and Allied nations.
