NATO and Kuwait sign Transit Agreement
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg signed a Transit Agreement between NATO and Kuwait in a visit to Kuwait City on Monday (29 February 2016). The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah, signed for the State of Kuwait. The agreement, NATO's first in the Gulf region, will facilitate the transit of personnel, supplies and equipment to the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. It will also make any future NATO activity in the region much more effective.
