NATO expresses strong solidarity with Turkey at special meeting of the North Atlantic Council
Ambassadors of all 28 NATO Allies met in the North Atlantic Council on Tuesday (28 July 2015) following a request by Turkey for consultations under Article 4 of the Washington Treaty. Turkey requested the meeting in view of the recent serious terrorist attacks on its territory. All Allies condemned the attacks and expressed condolences to the Turkish government and the families of the victims. They stressed that NATO is following developments very closely on the Alliance’s south-eastern border, and stands “in strong solidarity with Turkey.”
