NATO Secretary General visits Afghanistan
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is currently visiting Afghanistan.
During this trip, the Secretary General will meet with President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah to discuss NATO-Afghanistan cooperation, including the 2015 launch of the Resolute Support Mission. He will also meet with General John Campbell, Commander of ISAF, and other senior ISAF officers, NATO Senior Civilian Representative Ambassador Maurits Jochems, senior international community leaders, and members of Afghan civil society.
The Secretary General will spend time with NATO and partner troops to thank them for their service during the 13 years of ISAF operations and will pay tribute to the fallen. He will also visit the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command in Kabul to commend the Afghan National Security Forces for their dedication, as they assume full responsibility for security at the end of this year.
