NATO Secretary General sets out his priorities

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, expressed his commitment to implementing the Wales Summit decisions to reinforce collective defence, to expand NATO’s network of partnerships and preserve a strong transatlantic bond at his first press conference today [Wednesday, 1 October].

The Summit set a clear course. The decisions taken at Wales will ensure that NATO stands ready to face the future”, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg said. “So as I take office, these are my three priorities: keep NATO strong; help keep our neighbourhood stable by working with partners; and keep the bond between Europe and North America rock solid”.
