Youth seminar in Denmark focuses on global security challenges
Around 30 students and young professionals gathered at Aalborg Airbase in Denmark for the 29th annual Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar (DAYS 2014), which ran from 30 June to 6 July.
The seminar was designed to update the post-Cold War generation on current security challenges facing the Alliance and the rest of the world. High-level speakers from government and academia contributed to this year’s theme of “Conflicts and warfare in a globalised world”.
Participants from Europe, North America and the Caucasus had the opportunity to attend lectures, panel debates and workshops. Discussions covered a wide range of topics from Afghanistan and Ukraine to Syria and territorial disputes in the East China Sea.
Organised by the Danish Atlantic Treaty Association and co-sponsored by NATO, DAYS is a well-established and respected event. It provides a forum for young people who have experienced security issues to share their views in a relaxed and professional forum.
