NATO Deputy Secretary General to visit the Republic of Moldova

The NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, will pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova on 12 May – 14 May 2014. During his visit he will meet with the President of Moldova, Mr. Nicolae Timofti, the Prime Minister, Mr. Iurie Leanca, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Mrs. Natalia Gherman, and the Minister of Defence, Mr. Valeriu Troenco.

Ambassador Vershbow will also meet Mr. Igor Corman, Chairman of the Parliament, as well as other political leaders and members of the Parliament.

During his visit, NATO Deputy Secretary General will engage in public debates with students. He will also address the Conference “NATO Partnerships: Achievements and Prospects”, organized by the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Documentation Center on NATO in Moldova, in the context of the 20th anniversary of the Partnership for Peace.
