Students graduate from Multinational Special Aviation Programme Training Centre in Croatia

On Friday 30 October 2020 the first group of students from the NATO Multinational Special Aviation Training Programme hosted by Croatia received their graduation after successfully completing a first training module. Nineteen students completed the Special Operations Air Planning Course conducted at the Multinational Special Operations Programme campus in Zadar, Croatia.

NATO munitions project delivers one year ahead of schedule

Today (1 September 2020), the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) received the first of three shipments of Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs) for 2020, acquired through one of NATO’s multinational High Visibility Projects involving 13 Allies and one NATO partner(1). The PGMs, produced in the United States, are arriving between three to twelve months ahead of schedule. The total value of this acquisition is over 44 million US dollars.

Second aircraft in NATO’s future multi-role tanker transport fleet arrives in the Netherlands

The second aircraft in NATO’s future fleet of multi-role aircraft arrived in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on Monday (10 August 2020). The milestone follows the arrival of the first aircraft from the production facility in Getafe, Spain on 30 June. By the end of 2024, the full fleet will consist of eight Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, with an option to extend the contract up to eleven aircraft in the future.

First aircraft of NATO’s future multi-role tanker transport fleet lands at Eindhoven airbase

NATO’s future fleet of multi-role aircraft (MMF) is marking an important milestone on Tuesday (30 June 2020), as the first of the eight aircraft in the fleet landed at the main operating base in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Eleven Allies launch Multinational Initiative on Pilot Training

Eleven NATO Defence Ministers launched on Friday (19 June 2020) an initiative to create a network of training facilities for pilots across the European continent. The Ministers of Defence of Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey signed a Letter of Intent confirming the establishment of the NATO Flight Training Europe (NFTE) initiative, in order join forces for the training of fighter jet, helicopter, fixed wing and drone pilots.
