Foreign Ministers mark NATO’s 75th anniversary, meet with Ukraine, Indo-Pacific partners, European Union

Foreign Ministers concluded two days of talks in Brussels on Thursday (4 April 2024) with a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, and another meeting with Indo-Pacific partners and the European Union. Thursday marked 75 years since NATO’s founding. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the landmark, saying: "since 1949, we have been the strongest and most successful Alliance in history."

“Ukraine does not stand alone”, says Chair of the NATO Military Committee at the Kyiv Security Forum

On 20-21 March 2024, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer was in Kyiv, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, and Ukrainian Chief of Defence, General Oleksandr Syrskyi. This is the first NATO military delegation to visit Ukraine since the full-scale invasion. During his visit, Admiral Bauer addressed the Kyiv Security Forum.

NATO and Ukraine start major defence procurement review

A conference marking a new phase in NATO’s partnership with Ukraine will take place in Luxembourg this week. Delegates from NATO and Ukraine will meet to discuss modernising Ukraine’s defence procurement processes to make them faster, more sustainable and more transparent. Stacy Cummings, General Manager of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, will open conference proceedings and speakers include Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence Dmytro Klymenkov and Tom Goffus, NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Operations.
