The North Atlantic Council met with members of the Defence Reform Advisory Board of Ukraine on Tuesday (4 February 2020) to exchange views on Ukraine’s reform agenda and current priorities. Established in 2016, the Board provides expertise and recommendations on defence reforms to Ukraine’s leadership.

Secretary General welcomes Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister to NATO Headquarters

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg had talks on Wednesday (15 January 2020) with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Dmytro Kuleba. They discussed the strength of the NATO-Ukraine partnership and the continuing political and practical support that the Alliance provides Ukraine. Following their meeting, Mr. Stoltenberg and Mr. Kuleba participated in a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.

Secretary General: NATO is proud to support Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg delivered a keynote speech at Ukraine’s Maritime Academy in Odesa on Wednesday (30 October 2019). Addressing cadets, the Secretary General underlined NATO’s support for the Academy, including with training aboard Allied ships and support on logistics and leadership. “You are the future of this navy, you are the next generation of Ukrainian leaders, and you are also citizens of a free and democratic Ukraine,” he said.

We welcome that the Ukrainian sailors seized by Russia last November are finally back home, as well as the film-maker Oleg Sentsov. This is a step in the right direction. NATO continues to call on Russia to fulfil all its obligations under the Minsk Agreements, including the release of all prisoners.
