Brigadier General Milutin Djurovic was born on January 29, 1974 in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro.

He finished his elementary education in Mojkovac, Military High School in Belgrade. He graduated from Military Academy in 1997 in Kragujevac as an artillery officer, and started his career in the 83rd Motorized Brigade in Bar where he worked as a platoon leader and 105mm howitzer battery commander.

From 2004-2011 he served in a variety of assignments in the 5th Motorized Brigade, Light Infantry

Brigade, Army, Land Forces Brigade. From 2006-2011 he was occasionally engaged as the Subject Matter Expert in the Department of Arms Control (Verification Centre) of the  Ministry of Defence in the realization of international agreements on arms control, OSCE activities, as well as implementation of other conventions and international agreements. From 2011-2015 he was a commander of the Mountain Battalion/Land Forces Brigade. From 2015-2017 he was Infantry Battallion commander, and after that, until 2018 he was Chief of Operations Centre, General Staff. 

In 2018, Brig. Gen. Djurovic was Inspector in the Directorate for Inspection Supervision in the Ministry of Defence. In 2019, he was the Head  of  Defence Policy and Planning in the Directorate for Defence Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Defence. 

He completed International General/Admiral Staff Officer Course at The Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in 2014, Germany. 

Brig. Gen. Djurovic's personal decorations include numerous awards, such as the Order of Merit that he was decorated with in the field of Security and Defence.

He was promoted to the current rank of Brigadier General on April 16, 2021, when he was appointed as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro.

His hobby is mountaineering, and he has been the President of Military Mountain Club             

''Kapetan'' since 2015. Military Mountain Club ''Kapetan'' is the member of Mountaineering Assossiation of Montenegro, and owing to this Club, Montenegro is the member of the International Federation of Mountain Soldiers.

Brig. Gen. Djurovic is fluent in German and English language.

He is married and has two children.
