by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg depositing a copy of NATO’s founding Washington Treaty at the Peace Library
It is a pleasure to donate a copy of NATO’s founding treaty, the Washington Treaty, to the Peace Library. NATO was established to ensure peace across Europe and North America and to make sure that the horrors of the First and the Second World War never happen again.
NATO has helped to keep peace for almost 70 years by standing together and protecting each other. NATO’s main task is to make sure that we also in the future are able to maintain peace. And therefore I think it was a good thing, the right thing, to donate a copy of the Washington Treaty to the Peace Library.
