NATO as a guest of honour at the Belgian National Day

Belgium has been home to NATO Headquarters since 1967 and the Alliance – which in the meantime has grown from 14 to 28 members – has greatly appreciated the hospitality of the host-nation.
We are therefore very happy that this year NATO has been invited by the Ministry of Defence of Belgium to be part of the National Day Celebrations.
We invite you to come along to a unique event, specially set up for the occasion: a NATO Village in the Parc de Bruxelles/Warandepark in the centre of Brussels. Join us there to celebrate Belgium and NATO on this special occasion and find out more about different faces of NATO in the 21st century. You will be able to visit our multimedia exhibits; record video messages; test your knowledge of the Alliance with our interactive quiz; watch a film in our outdoor cinema; enjoy some live music by the SHAPE band; take away some NATO information products, and more!
The NATO Village will be opened officially by the Prime Minister of Belgium, H.E. Herman van Rompuy and the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, in the presence of the Belgian Minister of Defence, Mr. Pieter de Crem and the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola.
